Breast Imaging Categorical Course

The Breast Imaging Categorical Course will be virtual with both live and self-paced lectures.

This course will present a comprehensive review of breast imaging and the radiologic characteristics of breast diseases as a reflection of the pathologic process.

Lack of understanding of the underlying pathology can lead to misinterpretation of radiologic images and the potential to overlook important complications, indications and long-term outcomes as it relates to specific procedures. This course will serve to provide that education to residents and as a refresher for practicing radiologists.

The faculty includes nationally and internationally recognized speakers who will emphasize radiologic-pathologic correlation to enhance participants' understanding of breast imaging.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the radiologic characteristics of breast diseases as a reflection of the pathologic process.
  • Summarize how clinical information and radiologic-pathologic correlation may assist in the formation of a limited differential diagnosis for breast imaging findings.
  • Distinguish between breast diseases in the differential diagnoses based on specific imaging features related to their underlying pathology.
  • Identify a diagnosis utilizing the principles of radiologic-pathologic correlation in the interpretation of imaging studies.
  • Describe the most appropriate management for patients based on radiologic-pathologic correlation after image-guided breast biopsies.
